Lionel Messi and Eden Hazard are two of the more creative footballers out there, but a few other stars have, in fact, created more goalscoring opportunities than they did since 2008.

Very few players are as creative as Messi and Hazard in their domestic leagues but it seems the most creative players have linked up in the English Premier League.

Arsenal’s Mesut Ozil has created 637 chances for his teammates at the Gunners and before at Real Madrid as well as Werder Bremen since 2008.

David Silva is in second position after creating 554 chances for his teammates at Manchester City and Valencia.

New West Ham signing Dimitri Payet sits in third spot with 551 chances. The 28-year-old made his name in Ligue 1 at Lille, St Etienne and Marseille.

Manchester United's Juan Mata follows in fourth spot with 544 chances created. The Spaniard hasn’t always played throughout the past two seasons but still created many chances for his teammates at United, Chelsea and Valencia.

Eden Hazard only appears in fifth position, with 539 chances created during his time at Lille and Chelsea, while former FC Barcelona captain Xavi follows in sixth position with 517.
