In his FC Barcelona career, the Argentine genius has played in a total of 20 finals, with his team coming out on top in 16 of these. On only three occasions have Real Madrid (in two Copa del Rey finals and one Spanish Super Cup final) and once, Sevilla (UEFA Super Cup) got the better of a 'Blaugranas' side in a showpiece with Leo on the field.
There are no question marks about his ability to find the back of the net in finals: 22 goals in 25 final appearances is a record which will take some beating. In what are games of the very highest level, the Argentine records a goal every 100 minutes, i.e. a ratio of practically a goal a game. Messi even managed to net in seven successive finals between 2011 and 2013, scoring nine goals in the process.
